The Honeymaker
A 1×12 combo voiced for the space between clean and breaking up — the place where a player decides what kind of song this is going to be.
The Honeymaker is the amp I wanted to plug into and couldn’t find on the market — a small-watt tube combo with the headroom to stay clean at low volume and the warmth to break up cleanly when you push it.
It’s a single-channel design on purpose. One voice, played carefully.
What it sounds like
Bell-like at low volume. A little chimey on the top. As the volume opens up the tone fills in from underneath — there’s a low-mid bloom that gives single-coil pickups a body they don’t always carry on their own. Push the tone and cut controls together and the amp moves from a darker jazz-box warmth to a brighter, more present voice without ever getting harsh.
